Investing in communities is at the core of our DNA

The recent float of Finablr on the London stock exchange is a good case study that reflects the values of BRS Ventures. While the focus has been on the float, the deal, the price listing and the future of the company, it is essential to celebrate the long history, heritage and values that Dr. B. R. Shetty has invested in the company.

When Dr. Shetty launched UAE Exchange’s first branch in Abu Dhabi in 1980, he provided a vital service in supporting workers in UAE to send their hard-earned income back home. Being an immigrant who had supported his own family in India, Dr. Shetty recognized both the social value the business played in the community both for families in UAE and their relatives in developing countries. It is no surprise that this investment philosophy is the same one which underpinned the development of the New Medical Centre (NMC).

At BRS Ventures, the intention of creating and investing in businesses which have a substantial social and community value can be found across our portfolio. Our investments demonstrate that we are a patient investor focused on delivering both fiscal and social dividends. This is how we will continue to grow our portfolio and the communities in which we operate.
